There were earlier suggestions that Alia Bhatt might join this series, and she even went to the Maddock office last year. At first, people were wondering if Alia Bhatt or Kiara Advani would play the lead role in Shakti Shalini. Now, a new report says that Kiara has been picked for the film by Maddock. Both Alia and Kiara were in talks about a project with Dinesh Vijan, and it looks like things have turned out well for Kiara.
In other news about entertainment, there’s a new update about the director of Shakti Shalini. Peeping Moon reports that Ajitpal Singh will direct this horror-comedy movie starring Kiara Advani. Singh is well-liked for his work on the SonyLIV series Tabbar. He has also directed short films like Rammat-Gammat and a film called Fire in the Mountains. Filming will begin in April or May 2025, and the movie will hit theaters on December 31, 2025. The story is inspired by Indian folk tales and adds a bit of fantasy. This year, another movie from the same world, called Thama, was released. Amar Kaushik is directing it, and it stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. At the same time, Kiara will be in Ayan Mukerji’s War 2, which comes out this year. This film is a follow-up to the one that came out in 2019 and features Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR.
