Kamal Haasan praised you for your performance as Asif Wani. Can you share what he said and how it made you feel to receive that kind of recognition?
My boss, Mr. Rajkumar, told me that Kamal sir liked my acting a lot! I haven’t met him yet, but it would be amazing to hear that from him in person someday.
You worked on Amaran for two years without doing anything else. Why did you decide to do that?
My director wanted me to look a certain way for the film. We shot Amaran in different parts, and it got delayed, so I had to keep the same look to stay in line with it! During this time, other jobs wanted me to change my hair to short and grow a beard, but I said no because I had faith in Amaran. I believed it would be good for me. Thankfully, that choice has worked out, and I’m thankful to God that people like my work in Amaran. It’s wonderful to receive so many messages and calls from both strangers and friends praising my work. It feels great to have that pressure lifted since it was a big decision to make.
What was your experience like working with Siva Karthikeyan and Sai Pallavi?
I haven’t had the chance to work with Sai Pallavi, but I really admire her acting. Siva sir is great; he makes everything on set feel simple, and I find that really impressive. I truly respect him for that!
Switching from modeling to acting can be a big step. Was it hard for you to make this change, or did it feel smooth?
I never thought I would become an actor. I enjoyed modeling and started that path in 2013. It was when my manager encouraged me to go to Mumbai and show my skills that I made the move. Mumbai had lots of chances to act, so I auditioned for a film and got selected. I waited for a few months, but then I got a message saying something had changed and they would reach out later. That call never happened, which made me want to stay away from movies even more.
