Shah Rukh Khan said that the money he is referring to is the extra fee paid to the Collector of the Mumbai Suburban District for the land where their home, Mannat, is built. This large house belongs to him and his wife, Gauri Khan, and is located on Bandstand in Bandra West. Originally, the land was rented from the state government by the previous owner, who later sold it to the Khans after getting the needed permission from the government. The couple is asking to get back the extra money they spent on the land for Mannat. Also Read – SSMB29: How Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra reacted when SS Rajamouli’s latest post confirmed
Mannat is a 2,446 square meter property owned by Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan. Before they had it, the government owned the property and put a fee on it called “unearned income.” This fee was based on the property’s market value and its selling price.
Later, SRK and Gauri decided to take advantage of a law that allowed them to turn their leased property into owned property. Back in March 2019, they paid a quarter of the total amount, which was around Rs 27.50 crore, as required by the law.
The Khans found a mistake that happened because the state government made an “unintentional error” when they calculated the conversion fee. It looks like they accidentally included the value of the bungalow instead of only the land.
