Vijay’s film hits Rs 16 crore in worldwide advance sales
The action-packed film “The Greatest of All Time,” also known as GOAT, is being promoted as ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s second-to-last movie before he transitions into politics. Following his most successful film to date, “Leo,” directed by Lokesh Kannagaraj, the anticipation for GOAT is sky-high. Industry tracker Sacnilk’s advance ticket sales data indicates that Vijay is likely to see another massive box office opening. With “Leo” having earned Rs 76 crore across India on its opening day, this figure sets the bar for GOAT’s expected success.
Sacnilk reports that the film has already amassed ticket sales of Rs 11 crore for the opening day. Including reserved seats, the figure reaches over Rs 14.6 crore. Of this amount, Rs 11.2 crore comes from Tamil-speaking areas, with an average ticket price of Rs 208. In Telugu-speaking regions, ticket sales have reached Rs 7 lakh. IMAX showings have added Rs 2 lakh in pre-sales, with tickets averaging above Rs 800. To date, GOAT has sold upwards of 5.4 lakh tickets. In the US, GOAT’s ticket sales have surpassed Rs 5.5 crore, breaking the advance sale records set by Vijay’s Beast.
