On 2 February Poonam Pandey spread the fake news of her demise on her social media handle, she was declared dead by her team, and later on the next day only, she took her Instagram and posted a story and post at the same time and said that her manager was sharing this post that she died because of cervical cancer that morning and everybody believed it too
Poonam revealed:
on 3 February she posted a video on her Instagram and said that it was an attention seeking and a publicity stunt that she did, she said; “ I feel compelled to share something significant with you all – I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease. Let’s empower one another with critical awareness and ensure every woman is informed about the steps to take. Visit the link in the bio to delve deeper into what can be done. Later on, she also posted some of the other posts and mentioned; “ sorry for “causing hysteria.” “I am sorry I caused hurt. My intention? To shock everyone into the conversation we aren’t having enough. Which is cervical cancer. Yes, I faked my death. Extreme, I know, but suddenly we all are talking about cervical cancer,”
The actress did this publicity stunt to promote her new website and faked the news of being dead just to promote her new website she later mentioned in another video she posted on Instagram; titled poonampandeyislive.com, aimed at increasing awareness about the disease. “I didn’t die because of cervical cancer. Unfortunately, I cannot say that about thousands of women who lost their lives because of cervical cancer. They had no idea what to do about it,”
